General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Production, met with French Minister of Defense Florence Barley, Greek Minister of Defense Panos Kamenos and Cypriot Minister of Defense Savas Engelidos on the sidelines of the first day of EDEX 2018 held at the Egyptian Center for Exhibitions and Conferences.
The Commander-in-Chief discussed with the ministers the most important developments in the regional and international arena and means of enhancing military cooperation with France, Greece and Cyprus.
The Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the preparation and good organization of the exhibition, which is one of the most important military gatherings in the Middle East region, stressing the deep ties and historical ties between the participating countries of the exhibition and Egypt in view of its regional and international status.
Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, also met with Mr. Yong Hong Minister of South Korea's Defense Needs Management Program, Lieutenant General Mohammad Freihat, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Evangelos Apostolaks Chief of the General Staff of the Greek Ministry of Defense and General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Rawaily Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi armed forces during their visit to the exhibition EDEX - 2018.
The Chiefs of staff discussed ways to support the military and security fields, expressing their hope that the coming phase will see more cooperation and integration in various fields.
The meeting was attended by a number of leaders of the armed forces and military delegations accompanying the ministers of defense and chiefs of staff.
