Lt. Gen. Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Returns After an Official Visit to Sudan

Lt. Gen. Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, returned after his official visit to the brotherly State of Sudan, leading a high-profile delegation of Armed Forces commanders in the seventh meeting of the Egyptian-Sudanese Joint Military Committee, where an official reception ceremony was held in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

The meetings addressed ways to maintain and develop the partnership and cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and reinforce military and security cooperation, mainly in joint exercises, border security, and share expertise.

The visit included a meeting between Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, with the Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, where the Chief-of-Staff conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and valued the strategic bond that tie both brotherly nations.

Lt. Gen. Mohamed Farid, also met the Sudanese Minister of Defense and conveyed the appreciation of Gen. Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and highlighted the depth of the Egyptian-Sudanese partnership, as it is considered a strategic bond based on cooperation in order to achieve and preserve the national security of both countries.

During his official visit, the Chief-of-Staff also met the Sudanese Chief-of-Staff, where they discussed several issues of common concern to effectively deal with the collective challenges. The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces affirmed the consensus of visions on all issues aimed towards developing all aspects of cooperation between the Armed Forces of both states.

From his side, the Sudanese Chief-of-Staff stressed that the agreed upon activities are considered as an extension of the military collaboration framework and are to strengthen the Egyptian-Sudanese military relations.

Several senior commanders of the Egyptian and Sudanese Armed Forces attended the high-level meetings.
