on the sidelines of the first meeting to the Egyptian-Burundian Military Committee to strengthen the military cooperation between the two countries. Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, met Lieutenant General Prime Niyongabo, Chief of the Burundian National Defense Forces, and his accompanying delegation that is currently visiting Egypt, where an official reception ceremony was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, and the military music band played the national anthem of both countries.
The meeting dealt with ways to support aspects of joint military cooperation between the Armed Forces of Egypt and Burundi in many fields. The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces expressed his pride in the long-standing historical relations between Egypt and Burundi, pointing to the consensus visions of the political leadership of the two friendly countries towards supporting security and stability efforts in the region.
The Head of the Burundian National Defense Forces affirmed his country's keenness to support the prospects of military cooperation with Egypt during the next stage and expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces in all fields.
The meeting was followed by a session of talks between the two sides as they discussed the developments of the current situation and their implications regionally and internationally , and discussed a number of issues of common interest in light of areas of military cooperation, and the session concluded with the two sides signing the meeting minutes, as well as a joint military cooperation protocol, which includes cooperation in the fields of training, qualifying and joint training in a way that allows the exchange of experiences between the two sides and confirm the consensus of visions regarding issues that affect the common interests of the Armed Forces For both countries.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior commanders of the Armed Forces.
