The Egyptian Naval Forces Carry Out PASSEX with the Greek, American and Spanish Navies within the Scope of the Northern and Southern Fleets

As the Egyptian Naval Forces conducts continual joint exercises with the world navies, which aim to enhance the combat capabilities of the naval units and their crews in support of maritime security and stability in the region, the Egyptian Naval Forces carried out a PASSEX with the Greek Naval Forces with the participation of the Egyptian frigate (Alexandria) and the Greek frigate (HS Kanaris) within the AOR of the Northern Fleet in the Mediterranean.

Within the AOR of the Southern Fleet’s in the Red Sea, The naval forces also carried out, another PASSEX with the US Navy with the participation of the Egyptian frigate (Taba) and the American ship (USS Okane), as well as the Egyptian frigate (Al-Zafer) implemented a PASSEX with the Spanish navy frigate (ESPS Victoria).

The exercises included the implementing a set of various naval combat activities aimed to enhance maritime security procedures in the Mediterranean and Red Sea theaters of operations, in order to assess surface and air threats, as well as training on homogeneous work within a joint force charged with the tasks of maintaining maritime security in order to confront special threats that hinder international freedom of navigation and the flow of global trade.

These exercises come within the framework of the Armed Forces plan for joint exercises and an affirmation of the strategic partnership between the Egyptian Armed Forces and friendly and brotherly countries, which highlights the capabilities of the Egyptian Navy in working and coordinating with global navies.
