Elements from the Egyptian and Saudi Navy continue to conduct the joint maritime training "Morgan – 16" in the area of responsibility of the Egyptian Southern Fleet, the Red Sea, Arab Republic of Egypt. The elements participating in the exercise are as follows: from the Egyptian side, frigate "Taba", provision ship "Halayb", a number of the rocket boats, and elements from the navy seals; and from the Saudi side, frigate "Riyad", patrol rocket boat PGG, and elements from the Saudi navy seals.
Navy seals of both countries, within the past days, conducted intensive training activities along with executing different types of shooting including night shooting. The professional training activities of the navy seals and frog men focused on activities such as counter terrorism in the sea and dealing with potential hostilities against the islands of the Red Sea.
The Exercise "Morgan – 16" is part of the joint training plan of the General Command of the Armed Forces to foster fields of military cooperation with the Saudi Navy. The capabilities of the Egyptian and Saudi Navy have been developed, especially in fields of planning, command and control, communications, conducting joint operations to counter asymmetric threats, securing the maritime theater in the Red Sea, in addition to unifying training and operation doctrines.
